Tarawneh lauds Royal step to dispatch a field hospital to Lebanon
Amman, August 5 (Petra)-Speaker of the Lower House, Atef Tarawneh, lauded directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to equip and dispatch a field military hospital to Lebanon to provide medical services to Beirut port’s blast casualties.
Tarawneh, who is also President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU), said in a statement on Wednesday that this step “embodies” the brotherly relationship between the two countries.
Moreover, Tarawneh expressed his deep condolences to his Lebanese counterpart, Nabih Berri, and to the victims’ families, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.
Stressing the importance of helping relief efforts to Lebanon, he called on Arab parliaments to spur their governments’ support necessary in this regard to overcome the dilemma’s ramifications.
