Tafilah Tourism Festival kicks off Thursday
Tafilah Tourism Directorate on Thursday launched a 3-day tourism festival in the Goods Castle Visitors Center, 15 km south of the city.
The festival showcases cultural and entertainment activities, as local singing bands will carry out performances, and a fair for cultural foods and handcrafts will also be held to help the governorate’s women sell their products.
During the inauguration ceremony, attended by a wide audience, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Issa Qamwa, said: “the ministry is keen to revive the tourism activities in the various governorates. This event contributes to the development of the tourism sector and to introduce people to the Jordanian heritage and traditions”.
The event, which will also shed light on the region’s folkloric history, lifestyles, and people’s costumes, is an opportunity to visit the Nabateen archeological sites in the area.
