The Somali army announced on Friday the killing of three of the Al-Shabab militants, in the Lower Juba region, in the south of Somalia.
The army stated that it was able through its military operations in cooperation with international partners, to undermine the capabilities of the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab group, whom it accused of conspiring against Somalia.
The Somali army currently working to track down the elements that fled from the site of the operation in which the three elements were killed, added the army.
The Somali forces have been fighting for more than a decade against the Al-Shabaab Militants, which has claimed many attacks, killing hundreds of civilians and security personnel.
For several months, the Somali forces have succeeded in recovering areas in central Somalia from the Militants.
