Senate president receives Australian ambassador

Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez on Sunday met with Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom Bernard Lynch, and discussed with him a number of Middle East issues, as well as relations between the two friendly countries, and the importance of strengthening and developing them, especially in economic spheres.

Al-Fayez spoke about Jordan’s firm positions, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, towards various issues in the region, indicating that His Majesty has constantly affirmed that there is no solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict except through international legitimacy resolutions related to the Palestinian issue, and on the basis of the two-state solution.

For his part, Ambassador Lynch stressed that Jordan and Australia enjoy solid relations, calling for their further strengthening in various fields, and for increasing cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests.

At the same time, the Australian diplomat pointed to the importance of coordinating joint efforts to bring peace to the region, as well as addressing the coronavirus pandemic and its various repercussions.
