Senate President, Faisal Fayez, on Wednesday discussed with Serbian Foreign Minister, Nikola Selakovic and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Speaking at the meeting, Fayez said Jordan’s foreign policy, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, is based on moderation and promotion of international peace.

Fayez said Jordan enjoys “strong, strategic” relations with other countries worldwide, adding that His Majesty the King is always keen to enhance Jordan’s ties with other nations to cover all fields and sectors.

Referring to His Majesty’s meeting with US President Joe Biden in Washington recently, Fayez said the discussions tackled several aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict, stressing that the two-state solution is the only way to end the deadlock in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Fayez called for strengthening economic cooperation and opening investment horizons between the two friendly countries, on the basis of benefiting from joint potentials and available investment opportunities that would advance Jordanian-Serbian economic cooperation.

The Serbian FM, for his part, highlighted the importance of strengthening and building on the bilateral relations, which date back to 1951.

The Serbian minister affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen and build on its 70-year-old relations with Jordan in various fields by intensifying visits to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations.
