Seminar to highlight Arab Government Excellence Award launched

Amman, Minister of State for Institutional Performance Development Yasira Ghosheh affirmed the government’s keenness to support institutional excellence aimed to implement the vision and future government strategies.

During a seminar of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (ARADO) launched on Thursday to introduce the Arab Government Excellence Award, Ghosheh said the Award reflects the pan-Arab keenness to develop administrative excellence in the Arab world.

Launched recently by the ARADO with the support of the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ghosheh noted the Award would create a “positive” leadership mentality among the government sectors.

Ghosheh called on the Jordanian government bodies to compete in the Award to contribute to success of this rich experience to achieve to excellence, progress and development.

For his part, Dr. Azzam Rumaily, lauded in his speech on behalf of the ARADO the Jordanian government’s continuous efforts to develop institutional performance.

The Award includes 15 categories, divided into two subcategories – individuals and institutions. The best Arab minister, the best administrator and the best governor, are some of the categories in which the Award seeks to recognise government excellence in administrative practice.

The Award’s purpose is to spread a culture of quality and excellence in Arab countries and to create positive leadership models throughout the region. It focuses on improving the overall performance and development of Arab government bodies and providing them with a platform to exchange best practices and experiences.
