Saudi Breeding Farm Acquires Rare Falcons from Siberia for Riyadh International Auction

A Saudi falcon breeding farm has acquired rare falcons from Siberia to produce uncommon breeds that can be auctioned at the International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) held in Riyadh.

The IFBA is organized by the Saudi Falcon Club (SFC) at its headquarters in Malham, north of the Saudi capital.

Falconer Soliman Al-Dahas, the owner of Al-Dahas Falcon farm, said the racing falcons sold at the auction are rare breeds that falconers prefer because of their high speed and beauty.

Al-Dahas Falcon farm sold a rare black Hur falcon, which was bred from parents that lived in the Mongolian Altai Mountains in southern Siberia, he noted.

Al-Dahas Falcon farm was established in 2020 with the appropriate ecological requirements for breeding racing falcons, the owner said.

In addition, special genetic compositions were formed to produce falcon breeds that are characterized by strength and high levels of focus and ability to pounce on prey.

Concerning beauty falcons, the farm has also acquired numerous pairs of falcons of breeds that have won in the beauty pageants “Mazayen” of King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, Al-Dahas said.

In this regard, the farm has formed specific genetic compositions to produce falcons with aesthetic qualities regarding color, appearance, weight, and other desirable traits favored by falconers, he added.
