Safadi conveys King’s message to Finnish president

Helsinki, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Friday conveyed a message from His Majesty King Abdullah to President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinisto on the importance of enhancing bilateral ties in the framework of the partnership with the EU, which is currently chaired by Helsinki.

Niinisto stressed his country’s keenness on improving ties with Jordan, commending his Majesty’s role in resolving crises in the Middle East region, achieving security and stability in the region, and enhancing the culture of dialogue, moderation, and respect among civilizations and cultures.

Safadi, who is currently visiting Finland, reviewed along with his Finnish counterpart the opportunities to boost cooperation between the two countries in economy, tourism, and education fields.

The Palestinian cause, the Syrian crisis, fighting terrorism, and supporting UNRWA, were figured high during the meeting between the two top diplomats.

Safadi also met with a number of business men and women and briefed them on investment opportunities in Jordan.

Safadi reviewed with the representatives of the business sector the opportunities in energy, digital technology, water technology, and tourism fields.

Jordan’s top diplomat also met with First deputy speaker of the Finnish Parliament Tuula Haatainen.

At the Helsinki Policy Forum, Safadi spoke about Jordan’s position on the regional developments, mainly the Palestinian cause.
