RJ: ticket fares of repatriation flights only cover variable cost
Royal Jordanian is proud and delighted to have started the first wave of repatriation flights that return Jordanian students and other citizens stranded in different countries yesterday, a noble mission that will be carried on over the coming few weeks in direct cooperation with the government authorities.
RJ President/CEO Stefan Pichler stressed the airline’s commitment to carrying out this work, noting that operating the repatriation flights stems from RJ’s feeling that it is its national duty to serve Jordanians in times of need as well as in joyous times, being a part of the bigger Jordanian family.
“In these difficult times, we want to help Jordanian family members get reunited, thus bringing a measure of happiness and security to the students, expatriates and their families as they get back home safely.”
Pichler said that RJ has been part of the fabric of Jordanian society ever since its establishment and, as such, “the company will spare no effort to help Jordanians return from the different stations on the airline route network”. RJ, he said, will not leave Jordanians far from their home and families, come what may.
He added that the company is committed to applying the highest health safety standards on board its planes and at the airports.
Pichler also underscored the fact that RJ offers these evacuation flights at the lowest possible ticket fares that only cover the direct variable cost. He said: “We love Jordan and Jordanians and are delighted to serve them, regardless of the cost.”
The prices students pay online or at RJ’s sales offices include, in addition to the ticket prices, the cost of quarantine at hotels or in caravans, and land transportation cost from the airport to the quarantine location and from there to the travelers’ homes after the conclusion of the quarantine period; all these expenses are paid at once to RJ to make the process easier for the citizens.
