Qaisi , foreign ambassadors talk tourism cooperation

Minister of Tourism, Makram Qaisi, on Sunday met separately with ambassadors of South Korea, Kim Dong-gi ; Japan’s Okuyama Jiro; Sweden’s Alexandra Rydmark ; Spain’s Miguel de Lucas ; Norway’s Espen Lindbeck ; and Italy’s Luciano Pezzotti.

During the meetings, Qaisi discussed ways to develop Jordan’s relations with these foreign countries in the tourism sector, enhance tourist movement and attract more tourists from these nations to visit the Kingdom.

Qaisi also discussed mechanism aimed to achieve joint tourism marketing, attract tourist groups, and exchange common expertise in the field of archaeological sites’ restoration and tourism product development.

For their part, the envoys affirmed Jordan’s “deep-rooted and distinguished ” relations with their countries, expressing admiration for the Kingdom’s tourist product, its security, stability and climate diversity.

In addition, the envoys voiced their attention to stimulate their countries’ citizens to visit Jordan to tour its tourist and archaeological sites.

The diplomats also affirmed the continued “distinguished” cooperation between Jordan and their countries, especially in the field of antiquities’ preservation and restoration, as well as development of the surrounding archaeological and tourist sites.
