President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), Dr. Mashhoor Refai, on Sunday discussed remotely with the Vice President of the American University of Michigan-Dearborn (UMD) for Educational Affairs, Dr. Morrif, ways to activate joint cooperation and partnership in academic programs, student and faculty exchange and scientific research.
Speaking at the meeting, Refai discussed the possibility of renewing the agreement signed between the two universities, and participating in the 1+1 Master’s Program in Business Analysis, which allows students to study one year reciprocally, and a 2+2 Bachelor’s program in Business and Marketing.
Discussions also went over dispatching some PSUT graduates to a one-year PhD program in Computer Science (POSTDOC) at the University of Michigan, according to a PSUT statement.
Refai said PSUT, under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, is keen to build “closer” cooperation with major international universities to improve and develop its outcomes, hoping that the meeting will result in a package of proposals and decisions that would build an “effective” partnership between the two universities.
The UMD official, for his part, praised the PSUT’s “high” scientific level and welcomed all steps that would serve the two universities’ goals, and strengthen and develop joint cooperation.
The two universities have signed an agreement in 2016, and the partnership serves their joint programs in business, engineering and information technology specialties, through which PSUT students wishing to complete their studies at the UMD will receive a discount granted to American students.
Founded in 1959, the UMD is one of the 15 public universities in the US state of Michigan, and offers quality professional programs in the business and engineering fields.
