PSD denies media reports on narcotic pills at Balqa school
Media spokesperson of Public Security Directorate (PSD) denied reports alleging that 62 narcotic pills were found at a school in central Balqa governorate.
In a statement on Thursday, the official dismissed media reports as “untrue” and a rumor aimed to ignite fear of students and their families, noting that such an incident did not happen in Balqa governorate, nor any other Jordanian region.
On legal action, PSD’s Anti-Cyber Crimes Unit is tracking down rumor-mongerers to stand trial, in accordance with provisions of the law, the spokesperson said.
In addition, the PSD called on public to resort to official sources to access authentic information and dodge re-posting any unreliable news.
