Prince Hassan meets Pakistani, Swiss student delegations
Amman, HRH Prince Al Hassan bin Talal, Chairman of the Arab Thought Forum, received on Wednesday a delegation of students participating in the Arab Thought Forum National Management Program organized by the National Institute of Public Policy of Pakistan (NIPP).
Prince Hassan spoke about the importance of reviving the concept of good governance, urging for utilizing the “creative commonalities” in in administering the water, and energy sectors, as well as the sound management of national and regional resources.
His Highness also called for strengthening the principles of cooperation and integration among the region’s countries, adding “no single country can face the major challenges, especially as human suffering in the conflict areas in the region of West Asia and North Africa has increased”.
His Highness affirmed the importance of developing human-based policies, which qualify and empower people for citizenship and enhance human dignity.
On the challenged Jordan, His Highness said the Kingdom’s population has quadrupled since the 1990s because of the refugee crises.
When talking about the World Refugee Forum to be held in December, it is necessary to work on developing genuine ideas from the region, which is at the forefront to host refugees, HRH pointed out.
The NIPP, dedicated to a multifarious, multi-factorial, and multidisciplinary research on public policy, is working to train employees in the public sector and civil service belonging to twelve professional groups, and this is the 111th session.
Also, Prince Hassan met with a delegation of Executive Masters students at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.
During the meeting, His Highness called for adopting a regional maps information system that helps the region address water and energy issues and demographic challenges.
His Highness suggested the establishment of an initiative entitled: “Thinking for Action” through conducting surveys to identify the various initiatives and activities that currently exist and to learn from success stories.
His Highness reiterated his call for the establishment of an international Zakat Foundation to promote the concept of social solidarity and human dignity.
The Swiss delegation’s visit the Kingdom, organized in coordination with the Jordanian-Swiss Business Club and the Arab Thought Forum, is part of an annual study trip to the Middle East.
