His Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal, President of the Arab Thought Forum (AFT), called for considering the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity to move towards creativity, which would achieve development.

Speaking during his meeting held recently with members of the Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum (PJBF), Prince El Hassan stressed the importance of defining commonalities, setting priorities and working in the medium and long term with a “forward-looking” view based on empowerment and investment in productive human capital and enhancing competencies.

Prince El Hassan also underlined the importance of establishing a “comprehensive” national information system for resources and capabilities that contributes to providing the necessary information and data.

This database can be used as indicators for economic and social plans, to meet public and private sectors’ development needs, anticipate the future, enable and activate human capital, enhance community protection, and build development plans based on priorities, according Prince El Hassan.

The meeting went over a slew of issues and challenges facing Jordan’s economic, social, technological and legislative environment, and the importance of accelerating the pace of economic growth and enhancing the contribution of the private sector to recover from the the Covid-19 pandemic-induced effects and employing entrepreneurship to serve traditional business, according to an ATF statement.

PJBF Chairman, Nathmi Atma, who moderated the discussion session, said PJBF , which was established in 2011, brings under its umbrella more than 200 members from various economic sectors.

The forum, he noted, contributes to supporting the development of the national economy and creating job opportunities.
