Power Company: Emergency response plan in place

The Electricity Distribution Company announced on Saturday it is activating its 2022-2023 emergency response plan to ensure the safety of people and address any threat to lives or property.

The company said in a press release that the plan includes, as a priority, power outages, damaged insulators and transformer failure, as well as repairs to restore power to vital facilities, such as hospitals, water pumping stations, security centers and civil defense departments, and ensure electricity is back on to the largest possible number of clients.

The plan is mainly based on sufficient manpower levels and uninterrupted power supplies in concession areas, while also preserving the safety of electrical equipment and the company’s assets, it said.

One of the company’s goals, according to the press release, is promptly isolating areas where natural disasters or fires occur, and putting the current back on after concerned authorities had removed the danger.
