Police chief, Iraqi envoy discuss security cooperation
Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Major Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, discussed on Wednesday, with the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan, Haider Mansour, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries’ security apparatuses.
Speaking during the meeting, Hawatmeh said the relations between the two countries public security agencies are “strong and cover all security and police fields,” adding that joint coordination will continue in the fields of training, information exchange and crime fighting.
Noting His Majesty’s constant directives to open up to the Arab countries, including Iraq, he noted this policy aims to extend assistance in the policing domain and strengthen communication channels with them to improve security work, and exchange joint expertise.
The Iraqi ambassador, for his part, valued the level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries’ security departments, praising the PSD’s distinguished personnel performance level.
The diplomat also stressed the need to exert efforts to expand the horizon of cooperation with PSD in the security and police fields.
