The police Saturday arrested the main suspect in the case that became known as the “artist assault,” according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The media office of the PSD said in a statement that after listening to the victim’s report at the al-Nasr Security Station, the artist stated that on September 14, while he was in southern Amman, a mob stopped him and tried to attack and shoot at him, after he had lost his way.
The victim was not harmed during the incident. He stated that the same group of people stopped him and apologised to the victim for thinking he was someone else. The police opened an investigation into the incident to arrest the suspects.
The police arrested the suspect, who possessed an automatic firearm. The investigation is still open.
