PM welcomes CDC delegation

Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh met on Sunday with a delegation from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to discuss potential areas of collaboration between Jordanian health institutions and the US federal agency.

The Prime Minister outlined the Jordanian National Center for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) mandate, which is to improve public health by preventing epidemics and communicable diseases and taking the necessary steps to prevent their spread and mitigate their effects.

Khasawneh stated that the government established the center in accordance with the royal directives, emphasizing the government’s support for the center to be comparable to similar centers in developed countries.

The American delegation expressed its desire for increased future cooperation and knowledge sharing.
