PM, Thai delegation discuss relations
Amman, Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, on Tuesday welcomed a delegation of the Thai Senate, led by Chairman of the Thailand-Jordan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Admiral Amornthep Na Bang Chang, to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral ties in economic, education, tourism and other fields.
Razzaz stressed the deep bilateral relations, adding that the two countries had managed to bolster cooperation as two small economies.
Jordan has many opportunities and advantages, particularly in the pharmaceuticals, agricultural and chemical industries sectors as well as its ability to export to the US market through their Free Trade Agreement, he said.
In the field of education, the premier pointed to the importance of exchanging expertise and students and teachers between the two countries’ academic institutions.
For his part, Amornthep underlined Thailand’s interest in further cementing economic, educational and tourism relations, stressing that the Legislative Assembly in Thailand will support the enhancement of such cooperation.
He said Thailand appreciated Jordan’s key role to help bring about a political solution in the Middle East, and also supports the Kingdom which shoulders the burden of hosting refugees.
