PM meets Egyptian petroleum minister

Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, received at the Prime Ministry on Thursday, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zawati, and Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan, Sherif Kamel.

Speaking at the meeting, the prime minister affirmed the “deep-rooted, historic, and strategic” relations between Jordan and Egypt, which are distinguished in all fields and at all levels, pointing out that the bilateral ties constitute “a model for joint cooperation”.

Khasawneh also affirmed the political will to develop the Jordanian-Egyptian relations and partnership ,thanks to the attention paid by His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The premier expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the cooperation by Egyptian side with Jordan in the energy fields, which is a “true” reflection of the brotherly relations.

Khasawneh listened to a briefing from Zawati and El-Molla on their talks held in Amman over the last two days, which were concluded by signing of two annexes to contracts to supply natural gas and operate expansion of the natural gas network in Jordan.

For his part, El-Molla, who conveyed Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly’s greetings to Khasawneh, affirmed Cairo’s interest to strengthen the existing cooperation with Jordan in the energy fields to serve common interests.
