PM, German official discuss ties
Amman, Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Wednesday underscored the close relationaship between Jordan and Germany, lauding Germany’s support to the Kingdom, as it is considered Jordan’s second biggest donor country after the U.S.
During a meeting with the State Secretary of the German Federal Foreign Office, Andreas Michaelis, Razzaz said that Jordan is looking forward to continuing cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries in addressing the economic challenges facing Jordan.
Razzaz briefed the German official on measures taken by the government to tackle the financial and fiscal challenges that are mostly caused by the regional circumstances, border closures, and the global financial crisis.
The Premier said that the government is focusing in the upcoming period on enhancing the economic growth, attract investments, reduce the public debt, and spur the private sector and businessmen, which all constitute key topics in the upcoming London conference.
For his part, Michaelis underscored the strategic partnership between Jordan and Germany, pointing out to the importance for the international community to keep supporting Jordan as an important element of stability and peace in the region.
