Parliamentary committee condemns Israeli escalation in West Bank

Amman, Palestine Parliamentary Committee at the House of Representatives condemned the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, the storming of government institutions and the erection of roadblocks at the entrances to the city of Ramallah and other cities, as well as arrests that targeted hundreds of Palestinians.

The committee warned in a press statement on Sunday of the continuation of the escalation and the practices committed by settlers in the Palestinian territories, describing the Israeli violations as acts of terrorism.

Head of the committee, MP Yahya al-Saud, said that these practices increase tension in the region, deepen apartheid and stand in the way of peace in the region and the rights of the Palestinians to establish their independent state on their national soil.

The Committee called upon the international community to immediately intervene to put an end to the Israeli acts and to provide international protection to the Palestinians who defend their homeland and freedom.
