Parliament discusses repercussions of U.S. president Jerusalem decision

The Lower House of Parliament on Sunday discussed diverse ramifications of the U.S. president’s decision to relocate his country’s embassy to the occupied Jerusalem.

During a House session dedicated to this key issue, its Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, said the parliamentary effort is a part of the Kingdom’s moves to defend the holy city.

He highlighted the King’s moves in this direction at regional and global arenas, and His Majesty’s talks with the Turkish leader,Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to coordinate relevant positions.

He underscored the House’s bid to send letters to Arab, Islamic and world counterparts to counter the grave repercussions of the U.S. step.

“A lot of work lies ahead in our defense of Jerusalem, and popular and official unanimous stances are a model of solidarity to ditch the U.S. act,” he pointed out.. //Petra// AG
