Palestinian presidency condemns new Israeli escalation

The Palestinian presidency Monday condemned crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces in the city of Nablus, where its army killed two young Palestinians, Mohamad Abu Bakr and Mohamad Hallaq. The ongoing unilateral Israeli measures of settlement, killings and raids into Al Aqsa Mosque underline that it meant to escalate the situation and take the region to a new cycle of violence and instability, presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeineh said in a statement. He warned against continued settler incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque and attacks on worshipers, which, he said, are an unacceptable dangerous escalation. Rdeineh called on the international community and the US administration in particular to intervene and put pressure on the right-wing Israeli government to stop its actions “before the situation explodes”.
