Israeli troops at an army checkpoint near Jenin north of the occupied West Bank Monday shot and killed a Palestinian man. Israel radio said the man was armed when he approached the Jalameh checkpoint north of the city of Jenin, and soldiers fatally shot him on the spot. The shooting came as the Israeli occupation army clamped a closure of the West Bank and crossings to the blockaded Gaza Strip on the Jewish holidays.
