Non-Jordanian ownership in companies listed at the ASE reaches 51.7%

Amman, The total value of shares purchased by non-Jordanian investors at the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) during December 2018 amounted to JD 495.7 million, representing 83.7 percent of the total trading volume, while the value of shares sold by them during the same period hit JD34.8 million, according to the ASE statistics.

As a result, the net non-Jordanian investment during December 2018 increased by JD460.9 million, compared with a decline of JD2.9 million in 2017.

The ASE figures also showed that the value of shares purchased by non-Jordanian investors during 2018 amounted to JD 1231.8 million, constituting 53.1 percent of the total trading volume, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD 747.3 million. Thus, non-Jordanian investment at the ASE increased by JD484.5 million, compared with a decrease of JD334.3 million for the same period in 2017.
