Nine fixed, charge-free Covid-19 testing stations installed in Zarqa, says its health director
Nine fixed, charge-free stations designed to test Covivd-19 patients, or susceptible cases, have begun operating in 9 health centers covering all regions of the Zarqa governorate.
Speaking to “Petra,” Director of the Zarqa Health Affairs, Dr. Khalil Rawahneh, said the fixed stations have begun to receive citizens wishing to conduct a Covid-19 test, who may show some virus-related symptoms, or to susceptible people who contacted infected cases.
Meanwhile, he said Zarqa Governmental Hospital laboratory has operated a device to expedite processing Covid-19 tests to PCR-collected samples, adding results now emerge within 24 hours only.
Previously, the Covid-19 tests were sent to the laboratories in the capital, Amman, and results take a longer time to emerge, pointing out that the new device’s full testing capacity is about 2000 samples daily, according to Rawahneh.
The official also called on citizens to adhere to health and precautionary measures to fight the coronavirus, by staying away from gatherings, using sterilizers and wearing face masks “constantly.”
