‘Netanyahu’s announcement flagrant aggression on Palestinian rights’: Bahrain
Amman, The Kingdom of Bahrain has condemned in the strongest terms an announcement made by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he declares his intention to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea in the occupied West Bank.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued Wednesday, considered Netanyahu’s declaration “a blatant and unacceptable violation of the rights of the Palestinian people, and reflects a determination to not reach a just and comprehensive peace settlement.”
It called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in confronting this declaration, reiterating Bahrain’s firm stance toward the Palestinian cause that has been strongly supporting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the pre-June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution and in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and pertinent resolutions of the international legitimacy.
