Ministry says studying dairy products prices after recent hike

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply on Monday said it was studying the prices of dairy products in the market after a local producer unexpectedly raised prices by 4 to 20 per cent.

“The ministry will take the necessary measure according to the law if it finds any price gouging”, a ministry source told Petra.

The ministry’s move came after the Jordan National Society for Consumer Protection (NSCP) called for a price cap on dairy items following the recent hike, and urged consumers to buy from other manufacturers.
