Minister of political and parliamentary affairs takes part in democracy forum in Indonesia
Indonesia, Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Maaytah took part in the 10th Bali Democracy Forum which kicked off in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday.
In a speech during the conference, the minister said that Jordan’s democratic reform was gradual, adding that the Kingdom has been able to preserve stability despite the current situation in the region, and continued the political reform process in the country.
Maaytah attributed the success of the political reform to important principles adopted by the state, adding that the democratic reforms have been carried out in a manner to ensure the stability and security of the country and its institutions.
The minister also spoke about the impact of the refugee crisis on the Kingdom, which is hosting a round 1.3 million Syrian refugees, who are placing an increasing pressure on the economic, service and infrastructure sectors.
