In a press statement, MFW acting director, Lama Zawati, said the company’s various and diverse services had a “positive” impact on Jordanian women, who were able to unleash their potential to grow economically.
Zawati also said the company’s contributions serve women’s empowerment by “all available” means, which constitute a “new” incentive for MFW to continue its path, expand its services and the base of its beneficiaries.
The value of MFW fundings nearly stand at JD722 million over 25 years, made through its 61 branches countrywide, she pointed out.
The number of beneficiaries from the company’s services, which operates under the supervision and control of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), stood at about 1.269 million, 96% of whom are women, and 7, 658 Syrian refugees, according to Zawati.
To date, Zawati said the company’s finances nearly stand at 63,000, the largest stake, constituting 75%, went to support its societal contributions, while, 14% targeted plans to develop existing projects.
Zawati also indicated that the MFW is the first company to launch a micro-insurance service in the Middle East, adding that the company offers financial compensation to its beneficiaries, with the aim of contributing to alleviating losses resulting from unemployment.
The number of micro-insurance female and male beneficiaries currently exceeds 353 thousand, she added.
