Mexican envoy visits Correctional, Rehabilitation Centers Department
Mexican Ambassador to the Kingdom, Roberto Rodriguez, Tuesday, visited the Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) Correctional and Rehabilitation Centers Department where he met with the department’s director, Brig. Gen. Nahed Maqableh.
Rodriguez was briefed on the services and programs offered to inmates and witnessed the situation firsthand, in addition, he was briefed on the health, food, entertainment, educational and legal services provided by the correctional and rehabilitation centers in the Kingdom.
In turn, Maqableh said that the department is constantly seeking to further develop its services and programs that are aimed at rehabilitating and improving the inmates’ capacities to help them be productive and more engaged in their communities.
The ambassador highlighted the Mexican rehabilitation system, how it has developed over the years and its transformation process to social reintegration and providing programs that contribute to reducing chances for inmates to reoffend through programs similar to those in Jordan, which are aimed at reintegrating convicts through work, training and education, and securing their basic rights and respect for human rights.
Also, he praised the department’s role in rehabilitating inmates and providing necessary support to the correctional process.
