A court in Amman on Sunday sentenced a man to three months in prison after he falsely claimed that a restaurant in the capital was selling donkey meat to its customers.
The fake post, which was posted on Facebook, caused a stir on local social networks about a month ago.
The court found the man guilty of spreading false news that caused uproar in the community. The ruling remains subject to appeal before a higher court.
