Lavrov to chair UNSC meeting on Middle East

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will chair a United Nations Security Council open debate on the Middle East on April 25, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said late Monday.
In a press conference, Nebenzya said the meeting will focus on the stagnation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict resolution and the escalation of tensions.
“Also, Lavrov will chair another debate on 24 April, featuring effective multilateralism through the defense of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. It will focus on how to build a new multipolar world order based on sovereign equality while maintaining the global balance of power and ensuring the conditions for humanity’s steady advance,” Nebenzya added.
