Large gatherings’ organizers will be detained, announces interior minister
Minister of Interior, Salameh Hammad, has instructed the administrative governors on Wednesday, to take the “strictest” necessary measures against organizers of celebrations and large social gatherings, with numbers exceeding 20 persons.
The violators will be detained “administratively” for a 14-day period, and will not be released whatever the reasons, according to the minister.
The minister attributed this measure to the developments in the Kingdom’s epidemiological situation, the uptick in the Covid-19 infections, and non-compliance of some citizens with Defense Order No. 11, a complacency that causes negative consequences on the citizen’s health and safety.
Aimed to prevent the disease’s transmission, the minister asked the administrative rulers to give “utmost attention” to enforcement of of these anti-virus instructions and cooperate and coordinate with the security agencies in their areas.
