King receives phone call from Emir of Qatar

Amman, His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, received a phone call from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, during which he discussed the recent developments related to Jerusalem, after the U.S. president’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move his country’s embassy to the holy city.

During the call, King Abdullah stressed that this decision will have serious consequences on the security and stability of the region and efforts to achieve peace.

His Majesty underlined the need to support the Palestinian people in its efforts to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
