King meets with EBRD president
Dead Sea, His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday met with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Suma Chakrabarti,
for a discussion on the bank’s investments in the Kingdom in key domains, including renewable energy, water, infrastructure and pharmaceuticals.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the EBRD’s Annual Meeting and Business Forum, which opened today on Dead Sea shores.
His Majesty commended the EBRD for its efforts to support economic growth and enhance the business environment in its countries and regions of operations.
The meeting, which was attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, discussed areas of future cooperation between the Kingdom and the bank and prospects for establishing private-public partnerships in Jordan.
The discussion also touched on ways of benefiting from Jordan’s strategic location as a gateway to regional and global markets.
Chakrabarti thanked Jordan for facilitating the EBRD’s annual meeting and said the bank was looking forward to expanding and diversifying its activities and investment portfolio.
