King, Egyptian president discuss ties, region

His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Tuesday discussed on the telephone Jordanian-Egyptian ties and the current developments in the region, particularly the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem.

During the conversation, His Majesty stressed the need to intensify efforts and coordinate Arab positions to safeguard Palestinian rights, both Muslim and Christian in Jerusalem, and support the Palestinian brothers in their quest to set up an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two leaders agreed to continue coordination and consultation in order to serve pan-Arab causes.
