Kabariti forecasts economic progress 2nd half of 2019

Amman, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Nael Kabariti, expected an economic improvement in the Kingdom during the second half of this year.

This progress is simultaneous with the government’s efforts to improve the business climate and to present solutions to address obstacles and endorse economic bills, he said in a press conference on Wednesday.

The relative stability in the region, in addition to the return of the trade movement with Iraq and Syria will be reflected positively on the national economy, he pointed out.

Following the 1st half of 2019, we will see a positive surge in the national economic indicators due to efforts exerted by the government to overcome trade obstacles and develop economic relations with Iraq and Syria, Kabariti said.

Kabariti lauded contacts at various levels with Iraq recently, culminated in the signing of several trade agreements during the Prime Minister’s visit to Baghdad, adding the government’s talks with Iraq made the private sector “optimistic” on the promotion of trade between the two countries.

In this regard, Kabariti expressed hope that Iraqi citizens will be granted more facilities in terms of visas, especially investors or others coming for tourism and medical treatment.

On trade with Iraq and Syria, he noted the development of ties with the two neighboring countries will reflect positively on national industry and trade.
