JTB inks agreement to develop new promotion brand

Amman, The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), with support from the USAID-funded Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism Project, signed an agreement with “Syntax” to develop a new tourism promotion brand for Jordan in partnership with a renowned British consultancy firm.

The project, which is considered the first of its kind for Jordan, aims to develop a tourism promotion brand that reflects the Kingdom’s unique attractions, and includes all types of tourism.

In the first phase, the project will review and evaluate the current promotion brand by consulting key industry experts from the public and private sectors to ensure the accuracy of outputs and its marketability.

The new brand for Jordan will be launched during the first quarter of 2020.

Director General of the JTB, Abdul Razak Arabiyat, stressed the USAID’s key role in supporting the board over the past years through various initiatives, pointing out the importance of working on a project of this size with a local Jordanian company with global experience to ensure its success.

Syntax, a Jordanian company specializing in brand development on a local and international level, was contracted after a series of procedures, the first of which was the floating tender, followed by receiving offers from Jordanian, British, Canadian and American companies, and then reviewing and evaluating each one.
