JSTA provides advice to dodge travel scams

Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents (JSTA) called on travelers to book their trips through certified tour operators and shun reservations with unlicensed agencies and their websites on social platforms.

In a JSTA statement to “Petra” on Thursday, its head, Suhail Halasa, said the association-affiliated licensed travel agents have “full” information about laws and regulations, implemented by countries, in relation to travel procedures.

Accredited travel agent is the safest way to enjoy a trip free of any unanticipated problems and obstacles, he noted, adding that websites don’t provide service recipients with the latest regulations, unlike ‘specialized’ agencies that offer the latest developments on those tourist instructions.

Reservations with unlicensed and fake travel agents, or on their websites, could lead to a number of hurdles and obstacles and prevent trip completion, due to travelers’ failure to comply with regulations and laws issued by target countries, according to Halasa.
