JSC, CISI sign agreement

Amman, Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) and the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), a key part of the JSC’s initiative to adopt international best practices in the stock market to enhance financial and investment activities in the Kingdom.

The CISI will support Jordan’s stock market by developing its teams’ relevant skills to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity required to carry out financial services.

Under the terms of the agreement, the CISI will play an active role in the process of identifying accreditation tracks at Jordan’s stock market, providing consultation to forge joint action plans, and participating in conferences, workshops and other relevant events.

Head of the JSC, Mohammed Hourani, said the signing of the MoU is a major step towards stimulating the inflow of foreign investments into the Kingdom.

He pointed out the cooperation of the JSC with the CISI will promote international best practices and support the effective integration of standards of ethics and integrity in the regulatory activities, especially the investment environment in the region is expected to grow.
