Jordan’s trade surplus with U.S. at JD179mln in 8 months

Jordan’s trade balance surplus with the U.S. stood at JD179 million in the first eight months of the current year, according to official figures released Tuesday by the Department of Statistics (DoS).


The value of Jordanian exports to U.S. markets in the January-August period reached JD807 million, down 9.2 percent from the JD888 million recorded in the same period of 2019, according to the DoS data.


Similarly, the Kingdom’s imports from the U.S. in the same period amounted to JD628 million against JD813 million in the corresponding period last year, signaling a decrease of 22.8 percent.
