Jordanian, Saudi audit bureaus sign MoU

Amman, Jordan Audit Bureau (JAB) and Saudi General Auditing Bureau on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that seeks to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of auditing and oversight.

The MoU was signed by the president of the Jordan Audit Bureau, Abed Kharabsheh, and his Saudi counterpart, Hussam al-Angari.

During the signing ceremony, Kharabsheh underlined the strong cooperation between the two countries in various economic domains, especially in the oversight domains.

He said the MoU aims at exchanging expertise and engaging in joint research projects of mutual concern, at the foremost of which is providing consultation and organizing events on various auditing and government-based performance issues.

This MoU will take effect in 30 days after receiving the last mutual notification through diplomatic channels, which would guarantee ending necessary procedures.

For his part, al-Angari said that the oversight bodies in Jordan and Saudi Arabia have achieved key progress in the oversight fields.

The Saudi official noted the “effective” cooperation with the JBA has begun several years ago, as the two countries’ oversight bodies exchanged visits and carried out training workshops, which contributed to building relevant capacities in this field.
