Jordanian products expo in Doha bears fruit, say organizers

Amman, The International Promoters Company (IPCO), the organizer of a recent made-in-Jordan products exhibition in the Qatari capital Doha, on Wednesday announced that the exhibition has yielded positive and good results for all participating firms.

IPCO Director-General, Raed Abu Saadeh, said that several participating companies signed contracts to export Jordanian products to the Qatari market, while other companies are still waiting for a response from their Qatari peers to sign contracts and franchises.

Food, plastic, chemicals, wood, bottling and packing are among the industrial sectors that participated in the exhibition, Abu Saadeh said, expecting that the partnerships will reflect on the Qatari-Jordanian commercial trade this year.

Abu Saadeh said that this first-ever exhibition that was organized by IPCO and supported by the Amman Chamber of Industry and the Jordanian Investment Commission and provided a great opportunity to the Jordanian industrial companies to exhibit their products to Qatari merchants and importers.

He considered that the three-day exhibition, which saw the participation of 100 companies representing different sectors, one of the biggest activities on the local and regional levels, pointing out that the exhibitions are considered an important commercial platform for promoting national industries.

Jordan’s exports to Qatar during 11 months in 2018 amounted to JOD87 million, compared with JOD82 million worth of imports.
