The Qatari Ministry of Municipality and Environment will organize the sixth 6th Fresh Local Dates Festival 2021 on Thursday, with the participation of Jordanian companies working in this sector.
The festival, which runs until July 29th, will be held with the participation of Jordanian companies specialized in marketing and trading dates at its venues that have attracted “large” numbers of consumers annually.
The Jordanian “Majhul ” dates, which will be exhibited at the festival, was found to attract a “large” base of consumers in the Qatari market, according to official statistics.
In 2020, Qatar was a top Arab importer of Jordanian dates, as recent data from the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) revealed that the Gulf country’s imports of Jordanian dates amounted to about 100k kilograms worth $500, 000.
