Jordan-US Parliamentary Friendship Association meets US Charge d’Affaires
Amman, President of the Jordan-US Parliamentary Friendship Association, Khair Abu Sueileek, on Tuesday discussed with US Charge d’Affaires, Jim Barnhardt a number of issues of mutual interest.
Abu Sueileek reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to develop them in all fields, especially parliamentary ones, as well as economic challenges facing Jordan as a result of regional political crises, the huge influx of refugees, which affected the Kingdom’s economy and infrastructure.
He called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to support Jordan to enable it to continue fulfilling its leading role, expressing appreciation to the US role in supporting the development efforts in Jordan.
Members of the association called for increasing US investments in Jordan in order to create jobs that contribute to reducing poverty and unemployment.
Barnhardt reviewed all kinds of the US support for the Kingdom, whether direct, military or developmental.
He also commended Jordan’s pivotal role in dealing with issues of common concern, especially It’s role in establishing security and stability in the region.
He expressed appreciation to the Lower House of Parliament and the Jordan-US Parliamentary Friendship Association for their positive role in consolidating the friendly relations between the two countries.
