Jordan takes part in Asia-Pacific Forum human rights meeting

Seoul, Commissioner-General of the National Center for Human Rights (NCHR), Musa Breizat, on Wednesday participated in the annual conference of the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF).

The conference brings together 25 national human rights institutions from Asia and the Pacific with the aim of providing expertise and training and creating strong national human rights institutions.

Breizat highlighted the achievements of the NCHR and its efforts to implement a strategic plan to harmonize national legislation with international human rights standards to which Jordan is committed, and how to integrate human rights standards into the educational curricula.

He pointed out that the Center and governmental institutions and civil society organizations continued their efforts to reduce discrimination against women and girls in accordance with the Amman plan approved by the 11th International Conference of National Human Rights Institutions held in Amman in 2012.
