GeneralJordan, Saudi Arabia talk ways to facilitate Umrah procedures

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, Tuesday discussed with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Rabiah, cooperation and ways to facilitate procedures to perform Umrah (Lesser Pilgrimage) by land and air for Jordanians.

Speaking at the meeting held in the holy Mecca city, Khalayleh stressed the importance of the “close and strong” Jordanian-Saudi relations, thanks to the wisdom of the two countries’ leadership and their continued keenness to strengthen ties.

Khalayleh said the Jordanian Awqaf ministry will announce the 2021 Hajj arrangements after the Saudi authorities complete the relevant studies and take the appropriate decision in this regard, voicing hope the Hajj season would resume as in the pre-Covid-19 pandemic period.

Khalayleh also valued the “large” projects implemented by the Saudi government in the holy cities of Mecca and Madinah and the “remarkable” services provided to pilgrims, praising the “key” development in the pilgrim-oriented services.

Rabiah, for his part, praised the Jordanian Hajj mission, tasked to oversee the pilgrims’ affairs, stressing the continued cooperation and contact between the two ministries to serve pilgrims.
