Jordan, Saudi Arabia discuss agricultural cooperation

Amman, President of the University of Jordan Dr. Abdul Karim Qudah met with Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki for a discussion on exchanging agricultural expertise in terms of improving the quality of production and the agricultural sector’s performance between the two countries.

During the visit of the Saudi ambassador on Saturday to the University of Jordan’s Agricultural Research Station in the Jordan Valley, both sides discussed a potential joint cooperation in training students, researchers and stakeholders in the agricultural field.

Qudah lauded the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in various fields, especially educational, economic and agricultural, pointing out that Saudi Arabia has provided financial support for the development of the stem cell treatment center.

In turn, the Saudi ambassador commended the level Jordanian higher education institutions have reached, especially in applied scientific research.

During the visit, Prince Khalid checked on the station’s tasks and techniques used by the University of Jordan in the agricultural station.

He was also briefed on the agricultural activities carried out by the station and what it offers in the field of training and guidance for students and researchers to serve the local community and scientific research.
